Long-distance soliton transmission with filtering

Not Accessible

Abstract

Filters spaced periodically along a transoceanic cable can affect soliton propagation by changing the random walk-off, the amplitude fluctuations, and the force of attraction and repulsion between solitons. The permissible power range for soliton transmission is significantly increased.
